Cacao Hask Speech Stand

A 3D-printed speech stand was produced using a material made from cacao husks generated during chocolate production by Meiji, a leading Japanese food and confectionery company with products sold worldwide.

Cacao husks are a byproduct generated in large quantities during chocolate production. In this project, they were reused as part of a resin-based material. The initial formulation, however, was difficult to print reliably. Through repeated prototyping, Boolean adjusted the balance of additives and other resins on site and established the material formulation and printing conditions needed to produce the speech stand consistently. The project gives a new use to a food-production byproduct, transforming it into a functional product through large-format 3D printing.
